俺の最初の映画『ロジャー＆ミー』では、生活保護を受けている白人の女が、
棒でウサギを殴り殺す。・・・「肉」として売るためだ。
この１０年の間、俺はしょっちゅう、「かわいそうな子ウサギちゃん」が頭を殴られるシーンが
「恐ろしく」「ショックだった」と言われ続けてきた。
本当に吐き気がしたと言われた・・・なぜあんなシーンを入れたのかとしょっちゅう聞かれた。
アメリカ映画協会（ＭＰＡＡ）は、このシーンがあったために、『ロジャー＆ミー』をＲ指定にした。
手紙をくれた教師たちは、この映画を生徒に見せる際に問題にならないように、このシーンを削除したという。

だけど俺は、このウサギ殺しのシーンのわずか２分後に、
フリントの警官がスーパーマンのマントを着ておもちゃの銃を持った黒人を射殺するシーンを入れておいた。

だがこれまで一度もー本当に、ただの一度だって
「映画の中に黒人が射殺されるシーンを入れるだなんて信じられない！何て恐ろしい！吐き気がする！何週間も寝られなかったじゃないか」など言われたことはない。
なぜなら、彼はただの黒人であり、抱きしめたくなるようなかわいいウサギちゃんじゃないからだ。
黒人が射殺されるのは、ひどいことでも何でもない（少なくとも、ＭＰＡＡの倫理委員とやらの中に、このシーンに文句をつけた奴はひとりもいなかった）。
